Grants
Qweerty Gamers is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides LGBTQ+ resources, support, and networking access to advance visibility and representation in the global gaming and media industry.
The VKMG: Gaming Project helps further our mission by providing financial and non-financial support to gaming projects that help increase the visibility and representation of LGBTQ+ themes and/or characters within the medium of video games.
Applicants must have an ongoing video game project upon application submission and a clear purpose for using the grant fund (access to software or hardware, overhead, licensing fees, etc.). Additionally, the project needs to clearly help shape a more inclusive LGBTQ+ environment, themes, or narratives within the gaming industry.
Applications for Gaming Project 2025 are closed. Stay tuned.
You may be wondering, “Who is Victoria Kennedy?” Victoria Kennedy was our president’s mother, who passed away in January 2020 due to heart complications at age 67. Despite being abandoned by her birth mother, the physical challenge of living with cerebral palsy, and the discrimination that comes with that, Vickie earned her master's degree from Manhattan College. After moving to California, Vickie spent 30 years of her life touching the lives of children in Special Ed, Kindergarten, Pre-K, and 1st grade at Tulsa Elementary School in Los Angeles, CA. Vickie was a massive supporter of the LGBTQ community and a very caring person overall. Without Mommy Qweerty, Qweerty would not exist. This microgrant program represents the kindness and consideration of others we’d like to continue in her honor.
Qweerty Gamers is proud to announce, in partnership with Google Play, the recipients of the Android Port grant. The Office Type brings your desk to life with 24 supplies spanning the LGBTQ spectrum, and Boyband Hell throws you into a world of intense super fans while hiding true feelings for certain bandmates. Stay tuned for more info on their release on Google Play.
